It took me a while to get this post together because, well life happened, plus I brought along my new drone, and it took me a while to put together a video of my trip.

Each review score is between 1 and To get the overall score, we add up all the review scores and divide that total by the number of review scores we received. We only use a weighted review system for properties in Malta and Iceland excluding hotel and vacation rental chains — the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the review score calculation. Guests can also give separate subscores in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible. Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.

Many people have asked me for my opinion of the Baha Mar resort! You might have seen it on the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and it really is beautiful. They stayed at the Rosewood which is one of three hotels that make up the resort, the Grand Hyatt where we stayed as well as the SLS. In my previous post where I shared quick tips before you go , I told you guys that we chose the Grand Hyatt because my friend who stayed at SLS said that GH was the family friendly spot. Our check in was probably the most frustrating experience of the trip. After arrival, it took 90 minutes for our room to be ready and after that, it took another 90 minutes to get our luggage from the bell hop which was frustrating because it made us late for our only dinner reservation. In hindsight, I should not have given all of our luggage to the bell hop and taken out our bathing suits. We should have gone up to the room at 4 and not waited until 5 thinking our luggage would have already been brought to our room. While we waited, we discovered our love for the spicy margaritas at El Jefe as well as the chips and guacamole. We also discovered that it can take a really long time, on the weekends especially, to get your food from the food trucks that line the beach. You also could flag someone down to have your lunch or cocktail brought to your beach or pool chair. The hotel is large, there are a lot of people, sooo it took awhile to get your food from the food trucks. It took 20 minutes to get chips and guacamole on Friday at pm.

It was a bit nerve-wracking completing the testing and applying for the pass in such a short timeframe prior to our flight. The hotel casino is clean, pretty and large.

Talk about a change of pace… For this trip we really wanted to find a resort that was family-friendly, yet also had the amenities and perks that we would look for in a hotel if we were planning a vacation without kids. We realized we needed some help so we decided to use Beachbound to find the right destination and hotel. BeachBound is a travel company that specializes in planning all-inclusive getaways and curated beach vacations for groups and families. They work with over 70 different destinations and will assist you from start to finish with booking your perfect vacation. Their services were a game changer for us and really helped take a lot of the stress that comes with planning a trip off of our backs. It checked all of our boxes: family-friendly, lots of activities for kiddos, wide variety of restaurants and bars, beautiful pools and beachfront.

When the Baha Mar resort complex in the Bahamas finally opened its doors three years after filing for bankruptcy, buyouts and controversy, the Grand Hyatt was the first hotel on the half-mile beachfront development to accept reservations. It opened April As I prefer small, boutique properties or high-end luxury brands , I will be the first to admit that I had low expectations for the Grand Hyatt Baha Mar , especially when compared to the hotel's sister properties, run by Rosewood and SLS. But despite its sheer size — 1, rooms spread across two main towers and a separate building for elite guests — the Grand Hyatt managed an almost magical feat: I felt, upon entering my room, as though I had accidentally checked into a brand-new property from a lifestyle brand. The Grand Hyatt Baha Mar is a World of Hyatt category 5 hotel, meaning free nights cost 20, points, and since Chase Ultimate Rewards transfer to Hyatt at a ratio, it's easy to acquire the points needed for award stays at this property. However, the cash rates were very reasonable at this property during my stay. You can also stack this return with hotels. Since I don't have status with Hyatt, it made sense for me to book through hotels.

I ate breakfast burritos, sopas, margaritas, nachos — anything they were serving I was eating. Many people have asked me for my opinion of the Baha Mar resort! It was quicker all the other days. You could probably spend a month there and still find something new to do. The hotel is large, there are a lot of people, sooo it took awhile to get your food from the food trucks. I thought the portion size of my pasta was very small, but once I finished it I realized it was more than enough — the food was very good here! It's also a popular spot for special celebrations like honeymoons and babymoons. True story. There's also the buffet restaurant, a haute cuisine Chinese restaurant, and a more casual Chinese option with hand-pulled noodles. With its giant casino accessible just off of the reception desk in the lobby , luxury shops, and huge array of features, the Grand Hyatt feels like Las Vegas on the Caribbean. El Jefe — retro beachside taco truck just steps from most of the Grand Hyatt pools. Costa — upscale Mexican restaurant in the Rosewood. We truly felt catered to here! Fantastic grilled cheddar cheese sandwiches, chicken fingers, and loads of fries.

Probably my favorite lobby at a resort ever. Shopping — they have an interesting mix of stores. Tommy would nap on Nick or on one of the pool chairs. There's also an aviary and flamingo habitat. They do a variety of fun activities with the kids. Save time, save money! Our room over looked the gym and I loved observing people watch their iPads to do classes using the outdoor space. Faux Leather Leggings. It was clean, fresh, and it was a spacious room. Pizza lab. Working Wifi, clean beach and pool, towels available, access to the waterpark, etc. I did switch over to the Grand Hyatt Baha Mar for part of my stay as well. There was a touch tank, too with sea stars. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone. They should bottle it.
