Bryan Reid is known for building custom log homes on his HGTV reality show Timber Kings, and he's also in the business of pulp — a specialized type of pulp that has become extremely useful over the past few weeks. I was recently passing through Williams Lake on a workshop tour, about 6 hours north of Vancouver, and I was invited to meet with some of the stars of the show on their home turf. Pioneer has been around for 40 years and has become the largest builder of handcrafted log homes in the world. They have employees working at three construction yards and one office. Peter Arnold , Joel Roorda , and Beat Schwaller all bring decades of experience to Pioneer — Joel alone having been with the company over 20 years — and all have stories to tell about their dream job, crafting and building log homes for clients around the world.
