I recently bought a lovely wooden vintage staunton style chess set and the Knights have glass bead eyes. The king is chess knight wood inches tall and all the pieces are weighted.

I have been searching for a wooden chess set for quite a while now for my boyfriend's birthday. I was surprised by how many chess sets I did not like, because of the way the knight is made. Obviously, this is just personal prefernce, but I find most knights either too big looking like the most important piece , too "fancy" with crazy manes and jewelry and whatnot , too mean-looking or too blunt. I found one set which I thought was perfect, but unfortunately, it is sold out see the picture. If anyone knows of similiar chess pieces or just sets with "elegant" knights, not too fancy but very nicely made , I would appreciate it very much.
