To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question. Today I received my new bluetooth headphones. I was so happy at the idea to listen to music with best quality possible thanks to Aptx.. For who doesn't know Aptx is a technology that allows to provide best quakity of sound over bluetooth. I was very disappointed to find out that Apple still today doesn't offer in any of the devices like iPhone, iPad and even iPod that is meant to be to listen to music! Page content loaded. Post your question in the Mac forum. My conclusion for now is, aptX is a nice marketing issue but not a High Fidelity feature or Airplay killer.

Hi Archimago, You have neasured quite a few portable devices over the years, but I never saw any mesurement ir comment regarding bluetooth, both aptx and standars sbc. Any chance of this happening in the near future? The reason is that we're unfortunately looking at lossy codecs when streaming with Bluetooth and as a result I haven't been as interested since I see them as incapable of high-fidelity. Some of the more complex test signals will not even work because the lossy codec will just filter them out. Having said this, I will tell you that next week I'll post on the Google Chromecast Audio since that device is capable of good fidelity Archimago, you will be surprised to find how well the lossy codecs score with RMAA.
