I've been riding for almost 40 years. Much of that has been on liter-class sport bikes. Last year, I "settled" for a leftover Ninja R.

The model drops the R suffix from its name. They have modern styling and features, with low-seating ergonomics and a low center of gravity. The R and its naked sibling, the ER-6n, were introduced in The naked ER-6n was not sold in North America until the model year. For Kawasaki has updated the Ninja with a new frame trellis style adding to the new lighter weight and better handling. With new sharper styling it has done away with the distinctive side mount rear shock for a more conventional one, it has also added a slipper clutch. The ER-6f differs slightly from the Ninja R, as it features the passenger handlebars as standard as does the ER-6n. There is also a derivative of the ER-6 called the Versys which utilizes many of the same components. In many European countries the 6n naked version has proven more popular than the ER-6f; however in other countries, such as Australia and India, the faired Ninja R has proven to be more popular than the un-faired ER-6n, becoming the most popular 'sports-tourer' in the Kawasaki lineup. Over there it was called ER-6f, and we wanted one so badly that dealers pestered Kawasaki Motors Corp. Again, by popular demand, Kawasaki has brought the ER-6n to the United States for , and this time the name was left intact since Kawasaki already had equity in it. Hmmm…this is sounding better and better, just like a fairy tale. And buck naked it is.

However, I will say that the bike is obviously meant for shorter riders. Temperature Warning Type. Carburetion Type. Gear Ratio. The styling is second to none. The riding position is ideal for my long commute to work 75 miles one way , but I can still take it in the canyons and enjoy it. The value of price to fun, performance, and styling is unmatched by any bike i have ever researched. Still has Spark Plug. You can ride this bike all day but the seat could use a slight upgrade, just a tad sore after 1 hour but not that bad. My only real big gripes with this bike are the amount of vibrations that you feel, the slightly go-kart-ish sound the engine makes, and the fuel gauge.
