All indications are that the year-old Duane Ose has left the state and given up on his attempt to reclaim the remote Alaska home he sold as part of a reality TV deal with a British film company. In an effort to take back the homestead, Ose and his new, younger wife — Elie-Mae Blair aka Ellie White and Eleanor Ribera — squatted in the cabin on the slopes of what Duane calls Ose Mountain in one of the remotest corners of the state in October. That adventure ended with a U. Army helicopter rescuing the couple from the wilderness about miles south of the Central Alaska city of Fairbanks and flying them to the hospital there. At the time, Ose was believed to have fallen and broken his back, but his injuries turned out to be a bladder infection and dehydration. Treated and discharged at the start of November, he turned to Facebook to rail against those who had tried to help him and against family members who had tried to come to his aid. After their victory on the show, Mark and Emily had spent a month living with Duane and his wife and then returned to the UK. But because of the coronavirus pandemic, they have been unable to return to Alaska to lay physical claim to the property, which legally belongs to them. In , Ose and his wife Rena came down from their home on what he called Ose Mountain after living off of the grid together for nearly three decades. Today they call Redwood Falls their home. Today, the Oses live in a small city called Redwood Falls in Minnesota.
