Quick find code: Quick find code: Back to Top. Oct This was my prediction like an hour ago on another thread: "I think the new skill is either Necromancy or Shapeshifting Or a mix of both! See point 5 and here are the reasons why I think that is : 1 Jagex is pushing players heavily towards combat.

If the skill is going to change combat significantly as it seems at this stage of dev, anyway is this an attempt to rework EoC in a way that will appeal to OSRS players and perhaps cause them to switch to RS3? Be my guest, OSRS already has a "4th combat style", and why not also call "Lunar spell" is their "5th combat style" Osrs necromancer a lot to unpack there, osrs necromancer, but I think the thing osrs necromancer withstood the test of time as well as dissent of which there was a fair amountis that the EoC allowed for more challenging PvM combat in the future without having to be limited to pathing mechanics or unavoidable damage.

Osrs necromancer
A Necromancer is a studier of necromancy; talking to, and sometimes raising, the dead. They are usually followers of Zamorak , as the practice of necromancy is considered "evil" by most societies; however, a handful of non-Zamorakian necromancers have been accepted within society at various times. The animation of undead such as Skeletons and Zombies are the usual fare for necromancers, and have often been used as disposable troops, as seen during the God Wars. After the Missing My Mummy quest , Pharaoh Queen Senliten suggests that necromancy is a corruption of the mummification process, and was widely used by the Mahjarrat when they first arrived in Gielinor in the Second Age after leaving Freneskae with Icthlarin.

What do you guys think the actual gameplay or mechanics are going to be like. Yes, we are also going to have lore, perhaps mysteries to solve like in Archaeology. They don't deal any direct damages. It has unlimited extensibilities. It won't work in OSRS at all. Necromancy, with a much lower chance to splash damage, ever neutral damage taken and received, and relegation of basic abilities into auto-attacks, looks to make the EoC "simpler" without removing the skill ceiling that current players have been able to reach. There's a lot to unpack there, but I think the thing that withstood the test of time as well as dissent of which there was a fair amount , is that the EoC allowed for more challenging PvM combat in the future without having to be limited to pathing mechanics or unavoidable damage. The goal for Necromancy is to provide a combat style that exists outside of the existing triangle and functions differently without directly impacting the existing styles. Quick find code: Back to Top. Wrong forum section, sorry. However, in OSRS, there isn't remotely a combat system they can build solid foundations on. While I won't claim to be a dictionary, what seems to be on brand for what makes a combat style is something that directly causes damage to the target. Oct RS3's combat is based on the ability based EOC system.

Closing this as the author has posted a new copy in the correct forum. Necromancy, with a much lower chance to splash damage, ever neutral damage taken and received, and relegation of basic abilities into auto-attacks, looks to make the EoC "simpler" without removing the skill ceiling that current players have been able to reach. It won't work in OSRS at all. Similar to OSRS necromancy spells? The goal for Necromancy is to provide a combat style that exists outside of the existing triangle and functions differently without directly impacting the existing styles. If OSRS wants to pull off something with just a small sample and benefits of RS3's Necromancy combat style, they will have to at least build up some sort of ability base combat system, even if it is not the full scale EOC, and then they will have to hope the community doesn't oppose it like they hate EOC The goal is to make existing players have more options when it comes to experiencing higher end combat, be that through the more-easily-seen PvM route, but perhaps laying the groundwork for reviving a PvP scene. With regards to Necromancy being able to exist in OSRS, it absolutely could exist as a combat style where the extent of Necromancy in RS3 could just as easily have existed as a similar expansion to the Magic skill such as the Arceuus spellbook! Ofc I'm not saying this is the only reason for it. Expect it to be not just about combat either, may be we will also have resurrect various ancestral spirits to help us with various skilling and minigames activities. Even if OSRS forces something on the game, players will be very quick to point out it is just new magic spells disguised as a new combat style. Rest assured, they welcome OSRS players too, but just as much as bland new playes who haven't played any Runescape games at all. It has unlimited extensibilities. What do you guys think the actual gameplay or mechanics are going to be like.
