The fastest way to level up the Pickpocket skill in Skyrim may come as a surprise to some players. Pickpocket is not the greatest skill in Skyrim , but it certainly has its uses, especially if players are roleplaying as a member of the Thieves Guild, or they just like placing poison on NPCs, or even stealing the armor that the clueless NPC is wearing. Players can learn how to level Pickpocket to fast and easily through a tried and tested method that has worked for years. Riften is one of the best cities in Skyrim , even if it is home to the Thieves Guild. Players can get there through fast travel, running to the far right of the map, or purchasing a ride from any city stable from a horse-drawn carriage for a cheap amount of gold. This will then give players unbridled access to the city of Riften, where the Dragonborn will want to hang about near Mistveil Keep. Although the Pickpocket skill can allow you to take large amounts of money, there is a hard limit set on how much can be taken at a time. No matter what level Pickpocket the Dragonborn is, they can never take more than Septims at a time, so if a character you are attempting to pickpocket has more than this, it will fail every time. There isn't a way of taking a set amount of Septims repeatedly to circumvent this limit. But there is a handful of ways you can get around it — either through items, spells, or shouts that often go a long way in making leveling up Pickpocket go much faster. Even if your Sneak skill is at level and most NPCs won't spot you if you're crouching right in front of them in broad daylight, the pickpocket attempt will always fail if you are being seen by someone else. At lower levels, you may need to get creative in positioning yourself to avoid being seen by either the target or anyone else. Admittedly, having a high level of Sneak helps quite a bit, but timing will almost invariably be a factor in crowded places.
