So far the transfer from Shaw Mobile to Rogers has gone reasonably well.
I am new to Rogers and after 7 days of talking with people I am baffled and shocked by Rogers. Like others reporting here, what we agreed to on the phone was followed up by an agreement that reflected nothing that we discussed. Rogers was unable to get its technology to work for wifi calling and tried to up-sell us to a Rogers phone. I spoke to managers. One bullied us until were were quite upset and refused to listen, and another claimed Rogers was an independent company with its own plans and conditions, and Rogers is under no obligation to offer Shaw customers plans similar to those they had with Shaw. She went on to say if we don't like the conditions go elsewhere.

I had a very frustrating experience with Rogers today lasting more than an hour. They called me to migrate from Shaw Mobile to their service, but they did not give me any written confirmation of the offer. They claimed that I would get 6GB of data for my 2 or 3G plan, free roaming in the US, and a fixed price for five years. However, they also required a credit check, which they failed to complete. They tried three different credit cards and my driver's license, but they could not verify my identity. They did not provide any clear information about that. I have a spotless credit score and record and this shouldn't be happening. Many years ago after I left Rogers they still appeared on my Transunion and Equifax reports as having an active account with them. It took many years and a lot of back and forth before Rogers resolved the issue and sent the correct data feed to the Equifax or Transunion. I wouldn't be surprised if this is the root of the issue I'm having with Rogers. In any event, regardless of the "arguments" or reasons, Shaw Mobile customers shouldn't have to have another credit check especially with inflation so high and consumer debt load has never been higher. My conclusion was that in spite of having nearly two years to work on this agreement to buy Shaw, after all Rogers started the negotiation nearly two years ago, Rogers was unprepared technologically and administratively. Phone number migration from Shaw to Roger was not successful! I called Rogers more that 5 times since September and they told me and it was never done! The temporary number they assigned me stopped working , and the old number is also not working!!! How is this acceptable!???? I need a working phone number!! Falling out of number porting can be bothersome; we wish the migration could have been more pleasant. I keep getting messages I will be cut off and deleted. But their does not work and when I phone there is no answer and on hold wait for an agent for over an hour. I need to wait for the package. But yet there is no package! My phone will be cut off according to the messages soon!
