This homemade costume for girls entered our Halloween Costume Contest. For her hat I used a sombrero from the costume store. I covered it in red material. For the flaps I cut felt and used a paint marker to make the pink designs. For the candles I cut thin white foam from the craft store and hot glued it to small wooden popsicle sticks, taped up tissue paper and rolled it in as I hot glued the foam. I dripped hot glue down the tops to make it look like melted wax. I cut little holes in the material so that I could hot glue the candles directly to the base of the hat for stability. Glued tons of faux flowers, glued the flaps and the feathers.
