I appreciate the author's effort, it was overall quite well-written so maybe it's just me, but it ended up being boring and a little disappointing. Something wasn't clicking for me with her, and I found her quite whiny and slightly annoying; and I didn't feel she was very 'main character' like. This tactic was indeed used and it was used primarily for our heroine, Isavelle. He is obsessed and completely devoted to her from the very first moment and won my love very quickly.
