The Theater Development Fund TDF has been working since as a not-for-profit service organization providing support to theatrical works of artistic merit. TDF is one of several organizations deeply embedded in the promotion and management of the Broadway, Off-Broadway, and Off-off Broadway production community. This marked the beginning of a collaborative relationship spanning more than a decade and which continues to this day. We took this as an opportunity to also update the application codebase. While the upgrade work was suspended as Broadway shut down during the pandemic, we were able to complete the work in , giving TDF time to focus on reopening Broadway.

A TDF membership offers you special access to the deepest discounts on live theatre, theater development fund, dance and music performances. For instance, you might be required to send a copy of a membership card from a qualifying group. TDF accomplishes their mission through several programs. TAP arranges for special discount tickets in the orchestra to be made available to individuals who are hard of hearing or deaf, have low vision or are blind, require aisle seating for medical reasons, use wheelchairs or cannot climb stairs. Various programs also offer accessibility services for people with disabilities. On October 2, , TDF launched a new program, Autism Friendly Performances originally known as the Autism Theatre Initiative , to make theatre accessible to children and adults on the autism spectrum as well as their families. As a result of this initiative, theaters around the country began to see the need for autism-friendly performances in their communities. To make a performance autism-friendly, the show is performed in a welcoming, supportive environment for individuals on the autism spectrum, with sensory and communication disorders, or learning disabilities.
