Twighlight forest

The simplest portal consists of a 2x2 area of water source blocks, surrounded by Dirt, Coarse Dirt, Grass, Podzol, or Mycelium, with any flowers or mushrooms on the surrounding blocks. See the images for examples of how Twilight Forest Portals are made. Once the portal is set up, throw a Diamond into the water, and, if set up correctly, lightning will strike the portal, and the water sources will be replaced with the portal blocks. Any blocks can be underneath the portal, but there must be blocks below the water source blocks. Additionally, the Diamond may be placed in the water before the flowers are fully around the water sources. The portal can be scaled up to having an 8x8 water source, and can be any shape smaller than 8x8. To deactivate a portal, either break one of the portal blocks, or destroy one of the blocks around the edge or below the portal. Destroying the flowers have no effect on the portal after it is made. The portal does not have to be open to the sky, and can be created whether day or night. The biome the portal is in also does not effect the portal. Portals created in the Twilight Forest in other biomes will link to the closest portal in the Overworld that already exists.

The Twilight Forest Mod is a mod that creates a new dimension. It is mainly covered by forests and it creates a fairytale-esque world. Forests grow densely, shadowing most of the world below. The Twilight Forest is densely forested and in a perpetual twilight; the normal day-night cycle is suspended. An overstory of larger trees further shades most of the world below. The canopy is pierced only occasionally by massive trees that rise to the ceiling of the world. The terrain is flatter, or at least less mountainous than the Overworld, yet still features occasional hills, sometimes rising far above the canopy level, that are hollow and riddled with caves filled with valuable ores, treasure and dangerous monsters. It also adds dungeons, bosses and a number of items, trees, and mobs.

Sunk deep into the earth beneath the Twilight Swamp are the shadowy, twisting Labyrinths. These vast underground mazes are a good challenge for a seasoned explorer, with winding corridors seemingly without end, dead-ends and scuttling monsters lurking in the dark, but also many treasures to reward those who conquer the labyrinth. Explorers have found these underground lairs to be built in two levels, each a complex maze of which no two is the same. Access into the top level can always be gained with a small shaft that has been built into a hill, not unlike a small Hollow Hill. Sometimes though, the passage of time has caused seismic shifts in the land, causing ravines and caves to break into the top level of the maze. The second level of the maze, unfortunately, has only been found to be accessible via a similar shaft that connects the two levels.
