Happy New Year everyone! The good winter fishing weather continues! We need to define this a little. You may be scratching your head at this statement if you are looking out the window at drizzly less than pleasant weather. For winter fishing weather we want to see reasonably warm temperatures with waves of wet weather to keep river levels fluctuating up and down in a controlled fashion.
This week, we have reports on the Squamish River and the Chilliwack River. Focus on covering ground to try and find steelhead sitting in spots.
Vedder River. Steelhead fishing is starting to pickup! Numerous steelhead have been caught in all parts of the Vedder. Even with the cold weather snap last week there were still a couple fish caught. As we enter in February, steelhead fishing will only get better.

Please do not take them out of the water. A bridge crosses the river where it leaves the mountain valley and flows onto the Fraser River flood plain. Overlapping these runs are very late-running steelhead and very early-running chinook. Focus on covering ground to try and find steelhead sitting in spots.
