Element Shards can be crafted in the Tek Replicator. Once crafted, there will be a 2 minute spoil timer before Unstable Element Shard turns into regular Element Shard. Element Shards can be found on Genesis: Part 1 by climbing the slopes of the volcano in the Volcano biome. They are mined from the red crystals which can be found along the trails leading to the top of the volcano. Finding them can be extremely high risk, especially if the volcano erupts while you are up there. Element shards can also be found throughout any rock node in the lunar biome depending on what type of rocks are mined. Element shards in the lunar biome can only be mined on foot with either a metal pick or mining drill. A Tek Stryder can help out with lunar biome mining if the gathering needs to be done quickly. The small blue crystals found at Northland Crystal Isles rarely contains Element Shard; the small blue crystals on Eldritch Isle nearly always contain them.
