We don't intentionally try to break anything except locks but we do try to look for weak points in any design. The overall score is not just an average of the other scores: it reflects both a product's function and value — with value determined by how a product compares with items of similar spec, quality, and price. Good scores are more common than bad, because fortunately good products are more common than bad. Ribble has been very clever when it comes to the design of its Endurance Ti Disc Enthusiast.

Fantastic rough-road riding on 32mm tyres; supremely comfortable for longer rides; mounts give versatility; smooth ride quality; easy to keep the frame looking great. Not the most ergonomic handlebars for smaller bodies; weightier than comparable options at this price. While certainly far from the cutting edge of performance road bikes, this versatile drop-bar bike delivers an incredibly comfortable and inspiring ride. Sleek and understated, the unpainted, polished frame features discreet mounts for a rear pannier rack, as well as mudguard mounts and two sets of bottle cage mounts inside the front triangle. Cable and hose routing is internal through the down tube, though exposed at the cockpit for simpler front-end maintenance. A Ribble carbon fork completes the frameset, which also features internal cable routing for a dynamo , should you wish to add one later. At 1, The CGR is designed to take both c and b wheels , with the former is supplied here. The only substitution is the Tektro rotors, which are paired with Shimano hydraulic disc brake calipers to save a little money. An alloy seatpost with 24mm of setback is specced by default. Setup was fairly straightforward, and though the inline seatpost improved the fit compared to a standard layback one, I still had to slam the saddle forwards to find a better fit. At cm 5ft 4in , I was right in the middle of the suggested height bracket for this smallest size offered, and the bike fitted pretty well. Testing on the Ribble CGR Ti was extensive, including my local testing loops on Dartmoor, as well as a four-day road trip around Wales on a mixture of paved and unpaved cycle trails and gravel tracks.

As part of the tech team here at F-At Digital, senior product reviewer Stu spends the majority of his time writing in-depth ribble titanium road bike for road. There are a lot of generally accepted beliefs about the ride quality of titanium, but I was keen to analyse this for myself. Anything you particularly did or didn't like?

This year's Rouleur live was packed with stunning new bikes, and Ribble had quite a few showstoppers parked on its stand at the premium bike show hosted at London's Truman Brewery. This time, one of the custom creations the British brand had on show was this Allroad Ti Prototype, a titanium road bike that, as the name suggests, is still in its prototype stage. Likely to hit the markets early next year, it certainly looks very nice, so we've taken a look at the details. Talking to Ribble's head of product Jamie Burrow at Rouleur, he said that the Ti Prototype is the first one in the brand's upcoming, broader range refresh. It's also a bike that attracted a lot of attention from the staff members at Ribble, Burrow said, telling how they all stopped to admire the bike's sleek looks.

It comes in five versions, too. The back end gets a contemporary dropped seat stay design though with a curved tubular brace above the tire and CNC-machined 3D dropouts. The drive-side dropout section also houses a big replaceable alloy terminal for the bolt-through rear axle which is also the rear-mech mount so crash or crush damage is easily sorted. You get four-point rack mounts and separate fender mounts and the offside has flat-mount brake fixtures welded into the seat stay too. The tapered chainstays are dented around the tyre and chainrings to give clearance for either double or single ring set-ups and 40mm c tyres or 47mm s. The generous mm rear end on all sizes gives room for a second hooped brace with fender mounts and Ribble offers short length 46mm guards as an aftermarket add-on. Gear lines are internal from front end to rear chainstay and the brake line is internal through the down tube, all secured with neat alloy insert pieces. In contrast, the full carbon fork has an unmarked, matte finish with straight blades down to the 12mm thru-axle.

The chassis uses flat-mounts for the disc brakes and the minimal rear dropouts look premium. The ride position is sporty but not slammed — something I approve of — with the large frame measuring up with a mm stack and mm reach. It comes up a little longer than the average endurance-shaped bike and a little lower, too. Personally, I think Ribble has got the position right and it feels totally dialled when you combine the geometry with superlative contact points. The in-house brand Level handlebar has a slight backsweep, so when you put your hands up on the tops to take a short breather, the reach is shortened a little. It makes things more relaxed and I found it a comfortable handhold for long, steady climbs. The bar is wrapped in Level-branded PU tape with a great all-weather texture.

You could even switch to b wheels if you wanted to unlock the full 47mm tyre clearance usually 45mm with c wheels , or leave a little extra space for mudguards. Rate the tyres for durability:. The girthy 32mm rubber soaked up a lot of the harshness over rougher roads and smaller potholes, but also gave a lot of added confidence when both descending and cornering. Reply to pedro. Katherine Moore. A quality all-round set of wheels that proved to be reliable and durable throughout testing. The Fizik Antares saddle is a firm favourite of mine. Onto the aesthetics, and I really like the finish of the polished titanium with brushed logos. Reply to Matthias. It's something not often seen on frames made from other materials, where the external dimensions reflect the internal tapering. Rate the tyres for comfort:. Guillems I mention in the review. The Ultegra brake setup offers loads of feedback at the lever which means it is very easy to modulate whatever the road conditions. Rate the controls for weight:.
